We Siamese cats make great family pets. We are funny and entertaining, but we love to cuddle, too - once we get to know you, anyway. We're what you'd call a "one-man cat", and don't take to strangers really well. What more can I say?
What does a Siamese cat look like?
While the traditional Siamese has a triangular face, we appleheads are much more rounded. We have soft, gorgeous white hair that covers our small frame, and a little bit of silver to mask our faces, paws and tails. Okay, we Blue Points have silver, anyway. Seal Points have more like, er, charcoal coloring. Our eyes are a lovely blue color, and some of us are even a little crosseyed. But we can't help that.
What is your personality like?
We are very friendly, social creatures -- you might even call us "people-oriented". But, like I said, we need to get to know you first. I just don't trust strangers, to be quite honest. But I'm sure you're a very nice human. Just don't make any sudden movements or try to pick me up before I know you, and you'll be fine. When a new person - or a dog (especially a dog!) - invades my space, I like to go find myself a dark corner. But first, I always have a few words for the dog.
Any tips for taking care of a Siamese Cat?
We can take care of ourselves for the most part. But we do require some food and water (oh, don't forget -- LOTS and LOTS of treats!), and a little attention now and then. Read this for more tips on how to deal with us. One more thing: When we are trying to snooze, just leave us be...we need our beauty sleep.
